This past week, leaks and renders of a new Huawei smartphone surfaced across the internet. Now, Huawei has announced the Huawei Maimang 6 and the most interesting feature of the smartphone is that it has 4 cameras. 4 cameras!! More and more smartphones these days are coming up with a dual-camera setup, but on the Huawei maimang 6, we have two-Dual Camera setups. So, it’s a dual camera setup on the front, as well as on the rear.
Let’s first talk about the other things before coming back to the 4-Camera hardware. The smartphone will be available in three colours – Obsidian Black, Streamer Gold, and Aurora Blue and it will be sold as Huawei Mate 10 Lite outside of China.
The smartphone sports a 5.9-inch capacitive touchscreen display with a resolution of 1080 pixels by 2160 pixels and that’s an aspect ratio of 18:9.
The Huawei Maimang 6 is powered by Huawei’s in-house octa-core Kirin 659 processor running 4 Cortex A53 cores at 2.36GHz each and the other set of 4 Cortex A53 at 1.7GHz each coupled with MaliT830-MP2 GPU. The phone comes with 4GB of RAM and 64GB of internal storage that can be further expanded up to 256GB via a microSD card. Theere is a hybrid-SIM slot that can hold two nano-SIMs, or a nano-SIM with a micro-SD card.
The Huawei Maimang 6 runs on Android 7.0 with Huawei’s EMUI 5.1 on top of it and packs in a 3,340mAh battery to power it up. Connectivity options include Wi-Fi, GPS, Bluetooth, NFC, FM, 3G and 4G (with support for Band 40 used by some LTE networks in India). Sensors on the phone include Compass Magnetometer, Proximity sensor, Accelerometer and Ambient light sensor. The fingerprint sensor is present at the back of the phone below the cameras. The phone is priced at CNY 2,399, which roughly translates to about $365.
Now coming back to the cameras, the smartphone comes with dual camera setup to the front as well as to the back. The rear camera setup contains a 16 MP main sensor and a 2 MP secondary sensor, while the front has a 13 MP camera and another 2 MP secondary sensor. this should be an interesting thing to checkout, how well the dual front camera setup performs for portrait selfies!!
