Chinese company TCL, which is the parent company of the Alcatel OneTouch smartphone brand has launched the TCL Pride T500L in India. Priced in at Rs. 10,499, the smartphone is now exclusively available via Snapdeal.
The first thing that catches our attenstion about the smartphone is it’s iris (retina) scanner feature which would allow TCL Pride T500L users to unlock the device. The front camera comes into effect and scans their retina. According to the company, the Pride T500L is the first smartphone launched in India to have the Iris scanner.
TCL Pride T500L runs on an octa-core processor clocked at 2.5GHz with 2GB of RAM. The samrtphone supports dual-SIM, both of which are 4G-LTE capapble. Out-of-the-box it runs on Android 5.1 Lollipop on a 5-inch full-HD (1080×1920 pixels) IPS display.
The rear camera is a 13-megapixel shooter which comes with EIS (electronic image stabilisation), autofocus, and LED flash. To the front we have an 8-megapixel fixed-focus camera.
Talking about the internal storage, the phone comes with 16GB of inbuilt storage and supports expandable storage via microSD card. Connectivity options include 3G, GPRS/ EDGE, GPS, Wi-Fi, Bluetooth, and Micro-USB, apart from 4G LTE support. The phone currently avilable only in white colour at the Snapdeal listing.
